MiniJack

Offline music from your own server

Download a song, an album, an artist or a playlist and it plays without a network, on a plane or in a car with no signal.

Every download is checked

A file can arrive and still not play, for example when it was cut short. MiniJack decodes every download from start to finish before it marks it ready. A download that fails the check is fetched once more, then shown as failed with a Retry key. If a song changes on the server, for example after retagging, MiniJack downloads it again and keeps playing the old copy until the new one is ready.

Background downloads

  • Downloads continue in the background, and pick up again after a restart.
  • They use Wi-Fi only, unless you allow cellular.
  • When the network drops they pause, and resume when it comes back.
  • The Downloads screen shows each one, with keys to stop, resume, retry or remove.

Space

You set a download limit. MiniJack asks before a download goes over it and never deletes downloads to make room on its own.

Offline only

Turn on Offline only in Settings and every list shows just what is on the device: your own files and your downloads. Nothing streams.

When the server can't be reached

Songs that aren't on the device are skipped and marked, and the queue plays on. Stars, ratings and plays you make offline wait on the device and reach the server when it's back.

Try it with your music
