MiniJack

Servers MiniJack works with

These servers speak the Subsonic API, and each one ran the same test: sign in, sync, play, covers, stars, ratings, playlists, play queue, scrobbles, radio and top songs.

Navidrome tested 0.64

Everything

The server MiniJack is built and tested against. API keys where the server offers them.

gonic tested 0.22

Everything

Radio and top songs are empty without Last.fm data.

LMS tested 3.81

Everything but queue sync

Sign in with the API key, not the account password.

Nextcloud Music tested 3.2

Everything but ReplayGain

Sign in with the API key. Every sync reads the whole library.

Airsonic-Advanced tested 1.15 API

Everything but queue sync and ReplayGain

Playlists can't be reordered: the server doesn't keep the order.

Ampache tested 8.2

Most things

Sign in with the API key. MP3s are re-encoded by the server. No queue sync or radio.

Funkwhale tested 2.0

Library, playback, song stars, playlists

No album or artist stars, ratings, queue sync or radio.

Supysonic tested 0.7

Can't sign in

It accepts only a password sent in the clear, which MiniJack doesn't do.

When a server lacks something

MiniJack learns what each server can do, at sign-in and when a server refuses a call it doesn't have. Rating keys, album and artist stars, radio and queue sync then disappear for that server, so you don't hit the same error again. A short network error never switches a feature off.

Signing in

MiniJack never sends your password in the clear. It signs each request with a salted token, or uses an API key where the server offers one. Servers that keep only a hash of the password (LMS, Nextcloud Music, Ampache) need their API key in the password field; the sign-in error says so.

Your server isn't listed?

If it speaks the Subsonic API with token sign-in, it will probably work. Tell us at minijack@kiwiprojekt.pl how it went, and we'll add it to the tests.
